300 000 submissions a possibility in terms of number of submissions/capacity of Kobo?

Dear Kobo team,

We are planning on deploying through the OCHA Kobo instance a malnutrition assessment survey for MSF, with 20 teams conducting up to 120 surveys a day during 6 months in Nigeria (which amounts to 50 000 records/months, which means 300 000 records for 6 months). We’ll be building a dashboard to visualise the data via Kobo’s API.

We’ve already deployed large scale surveys on Kobo and used the API, but never with quite as big a survey- before we deploy we would like you to confirm that Kobo and especially the API can support that amount of data (there will be no photos and very few attributes).

Perhaps you could reassure us by giving us previous experiences (ie what is the maximum nb of submissions you can confirm that the tool will work with) & general recommendations on the subject?

Best,

Maeve (CartONG)

Hi Maeve,

As discussed outside this thread, there is no problem having such large projects. There are no limits on our server or database to the number of records a project can have, and you’ll be able to download and access all data through the API and the user interface as usual.

Good luck with the project!

Best,

Tino
