Adding more users that can submit

Hi there
I’m a bit confused as to how to add users that can submit and view forms only.

From what I understand is that every user need a separate Kobo account or do I miss the point?

Am I thinking too much like ODK aggregate? The way I have implemented was that I have the master password to edit. We all use the same username and password in the ODK app, but that is only for getting a form and uploading completed forms. They can view forms with the credentials but not change it. I can simply add more usernames and passwords, but one “global” is enough, they don’t need a separate aggregate account nor do I need to create one for them.

Perhaps I have a bug, but when I try and add a user in Kobo, it tells me "wrong username … " So is it correct to create a new user account in Kobo before I can/may add the user?

Regards

Hi Bergie,

Yes, each user needs a separate account which can be used as full stand-alone accounts. Some people only set them up for the purpose of having each enumerator have a different account and password. The process of how to share a project with different users is explained here: http://support.kobotoolbox.org/customer/en/portal/articles/2103898-managing-permissions

If you’re seeing “wrong username” as an error then this indicates that the username doesn’t exist in our system, or maybe that they haven’t clicked on the activation link in the email yet. So first create the new user account, activate it with the link, then log back to the original ‘master’ account and share your project.

Best,

Tino

Thank you
That is how I understood it. I created a new account with same credentials as ODK aggregate. It is working fine.
