I am currently unable to deploy my XLSForm project titled “best” on the KoboToolbox server.
Whenever I attempt to deploy the draft, I receive a persistent “Server Error (500)” message as shown below, with an instruction to contact support. I have tried refreshing the page, clearing my browser cache, and using a different browser, but the issue remains consistent.
When I try to validate using online validator, it generates error messages. I don’t understand the problem. Help.
Hi @robadu22,
Welcome to the forum!
If possible, could you please share your XLSForm here so we can take a closer look and help you troubleshoot the issue?
You have a few issues in your form.
The first - resulting in perhaps the most obscure error message you see above - is that you were attempting to translate the form_title in your settings sheet, which you unfortunately cannot. In XLSForms the form title is non-translatable at the present time, so you can only specify the one title.
[I’d also probably advise not attempting to do anything with public_key or submission_url, at least until you get the rest of your form working. These will only complicate matters]
However, in your form itself you also appear to have your constraints, constraint messages and appearances in the wrong columns; these will result in further errors.
I’d recommend fixing all these (eg moving them all 1 column to left?), and then keep running your form thru the XLSForm Online Validator until you get no more errors. Then try to upload and deploy your form.
If the Online Validator is throwing errors then you wont be able to deploy, or in some cases even upload your form. So make sure to fix any errors it identifies before attempting to deploy it in Kobo.
