how to add informational text

Hi Kobo-gang,

I’m really really excited about using this tool (so many of the functions are dope!) but I seem to be stuck on relatively easy step – how do i display informational text? I need to display about a paragraph’s worth of text which explains the consent procedures.

I read through the user guide but could seem to find the answer. I’m probably being dense, but could you help me out?

Respect,

bill

Hi Bill,

It is (perhaps inappropriately) called a “trigger question” . We use it for the exact same purpose (consent procedure). I believe it does have a single checkbox that you may or may not require to be checked (under advanced property). We require it so that interviewers have to confirm they read the consent procedure.

Don’t hesitate to send details on your project for our “showcases” we love to hear from users!

Great and thanks for the lightning response!

I definitely will share our project info and will probably have a few cries for help with the calculate function in the mean time.

Bill,

Another way to skin this cat, is to create any type of question, and in the Advanced Properties, remove the checks for “required” and “enabled”. In this way, you will end up with a question that is really just a label.

I mention this because some older phones will choke on a Trigger type question.
