Hi Dsayami,

No you dont need to create 10 individual account in kobo for all 10 enumerators. All you need to do is to configure the server details on the 10 enumerators Android tablets. Thereafter, ask each enumerator to get a “Blank Form” from the server. Ensure that the enumerators have an active internet connection to enable the tablets connect to the server.

I hope this helps?

Hi Orinya,

Thank you for your prompt response.

You mean;

Download Kobo collect in 10 android tablet/mobile

In General setting add URL (example: https://kc.humanitarianresponse.info/)

Provide username of my kobo account

Provide password of my kobo account

If yes, Can one user account (my kobo account) be use to collect data from 10 android device?

Will they have access to my admin setting?

Would be grateful for your support !!

Dear Dsayami,

Please see below my response to your clarifications in RED text.

You mean;

Download Kobo collect in 10 android tablet/mobile

In General setting add URL (example: https://kc.humanitarianresponse.info/)

Provide username of my kobo account

Provide password of my kobo account

Response: You are correct with the above mentioned steps.

In General setting add URL (example: https://kc.humanitarianresponse.info/***)

where you have asterix (*) include your server name. This can be easily copied from the URL bar on your laptop.

If yes, Can one user account (my kobo account) be use to collect data from 10 android device?

Will they have access to my admin setting?

Response: yes, one user account can be use to collect data from 10 different android devices. However, it is wisdom to create a separate user account for enumerators collecting data from your server. Enumerators can have access to your admin and server settings if they try copy the URL to a browser.

Would be grateful for your support !!

Response: thank you always

Best wishes,

This clarification is great help to me. Was wondering for long time. All this while i had activated the Kobocollect app on all my enumerators’ devices using my own user account details. Now, I am going to create separate user account for all the enumerators.

Dear Orinya,

I add to the previous voices! Thank you for your feedback on this topic. I would like to request for more clarification on the issue of creating a separate user account for enumerators.

Does this mean that I create a new account (username and password) for the enumerators? besides my own?

If yes, when using the kobo collect app, while using my URL, will the enumerators be able to access the form (from my account) on their mobile phones if they login with their account details?

Please clarify. My challenge is on how I can configure my server details to the enumerators devices, without them having access to my admin functions.

Thank you
Caroline

@murungicarol_18 Since you are the creator of the form, in the sharing screen you have the option of allowing the enumerators(the persons with whom you are sharing the form) to only ‘add submissions’. This way, even if they access the form in their login environment on a desktop, they cannot see the data that has been collected through your form. They are authorized to only make submissions.
Hope this helps
