Is it possible to save (and send to server) PARTLY completed forms and continue to fill them?

Forms would be filled on more than one site visit, taking place over several months. While the M&E people are interested in the data as soon they are entered, there is a point in time that a final (and not editable) version is be sent off and used for reporting. Possible?

Hi @york_rff,

Kindly please be informed that incomplete filled-up forms can only be submitted to the server if the mandatory questions are FALSE.

Also please be informed that this platform allows uses to collect cross-sectional data. At the moment it does not support collecting longitudinal data. KoBoToolbox however supports the pulldata function that could exploit and give you a flavor of longitudinal data collection feature. To learn more on pulldata function please feel free to visit our support article Pull Data () functionality in KoBoToolbox.

Have a great day!

Dear Kal_Lam

Indeed it seems to become a great day – as it starts with so many and prompt feedbacks! Thanks so much for this hint which is very helpful to dig myself deeper into understanding whether KoBo Toolbox could work for us or not (context: ongoing collection of M&E data by programme field staff).

Re your first remark: Assuming that all fields (questions) were defined mandatory questions=FALSE, could the same form be sent repeatedly (each time with additional or amended data and with a question around “final submission” to be marked in the last round) and NOT create a new data set each time?

Kind regards
York

Hi @york_rff,

Regarding your issue:

Once you submit the form to the KoBoToolbox server you are not able to send the same form to the server again.

Have a great day!

Hello @york_rff,
what is possible is to edit a submitted form on the server (even more than once) and you can specify the account (user) who has permission.

Very helpful inputs, thanks a lot!
