Hello Neil,
Thanks so much! I’ve been working
to implement mobile phone based data collection in 6 countries this year
and after visiting three in person, not a single one of them is able to
use ODK or KoBo enough to get it functioning. We successfully
used ODK in Haiti and Honduras this summer, but we had two very well qualified
survey managers who could figure out the form build, collect and aggregate
functions and learn XML enough to create the forms. Those survey
managers are back in their graduate programs and not really available to
support the next group of countries.
I’m not terribly technical, so when
I run up against the smallest challenge that is not specified in the user
documents it can throw me off track.
I’m off to Zambia and Tanzania next
week with 1 phone to test in each country, hopefully I can work out enough
of the challenges to get them functioning there.
Other than the list serve, are there
individuals who could provide me some basic tech support if I run into
more challenges? The videos were very helpful and the user documentation
is quite strong, but there are always little things that arise that are
not in those materials.
Sincerely,**
Paul Hamlin**

Paul,
I believe you may have downloaded and installed an out-dated
version of KoBoForm.
I found a link to a deprecated version that needed to
be updated. (the link has been corrected, thanks for the pointer)
-
Please
uninstall your current version.
-
Download
the up-to-date KoBoForm from here: code.google.com/p/kobo/downloads/detail?name=Kobo-win%202012-08-10.exe
-
Install
the new version.
-
Let
us know if that solves it.
You may also note that KoBoForm works best in Firefox,
so you will want to use that browser.
Thanks,
Neil Hendrick

I downloaded the offline version, it appeared to install

Tried this in Chrome and Firefox, no difference. Using Windows 7.
and I get a blank browser window and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
