Second chance for survey taker (i.e. edit previous submission)?

Hi All,

Is it possible that a survey taker can edit the his/her previous submission? I’m aware that as an admin, I can do so with the EDIT functionality in KoBoToolbox but would the survey taker be able to do so?

Hi @tnguyen,

If you are using KoBoCollect for collecting data, the enumerators should be able to edit the data collected as outlined in the support article Collecting Data with KoBoCollect on Android.

Also please note that if the enumerators have access (know your username and password) to your KoBoToolbox account they should be able to edit the submissions from the server.

@Kal_Lam: Thanks for the info. I think for web-based surveys, version 2.019.40 introduces “row-level permissions” feature which allows a survey taker to only see and edit certain records of data allowed by the survey admin.

This is only possible if you assign the rights to a user.

That is true. The permissions are at the user level .

is this limited right on row-level also possible for (re-)editing on server with KoBoCollect?
