I’m facing a very weird problem regarding translations. I made a form in english and then translated it into russian following the guidelines.
But the system now considers russian as the “primary” language of my form and does not allow me to vizualize it in english within the online editor.
I could not find anywhere in the form settings a place where this “primary” language is defined (I searched in the editor, in the excel format and in the XML format).
I get the following error message when trying to edit my form :
I tried all solutions : changing columns labels/orders but the only way to edit the english version of the form within the online editor is to “fool” it by :
writing “label::RU” in the column of English translations and “label::EN” in the russian one,
saving the excel version
replacing the online version with the xls one.
with this workarround I can edit the english version … which is of tagged as “RU” (and to vizualize the russian version I must select “EN” in the drop-down list).
Has anybody faced the same problem ? Any other solution than inversing column names in the Excel file ?
There must be a place to specify the “primary language” of the form …
I am not sure about the form builder, but this should be easily fixed by setting a “default_language” on the settings page of the XLSForm and then reuploading.
