Best way to transfer date/datetime variables to SPSS

Have you tried this out:

Step 1:

  • Download the data in xls format
  • Open your xls dataset
  • Change the date column from General to Date
  • Similarly change the time column from General to Time
  • Save xls dataset

Step 2:

  • Open SPSS
  • Import xls dataset
  • You will be able to see the date variable as Date Format and time variable as Time Format
