Hi @Kal_Lam ,
I already tried this, it didn’t work.
No big deal for me, since my use case doesn’t require Enketo to work.
However I can take a few minutes to show you what happens when I use the files from this post:
Hi @MarkS ,
Welcome tot he community! Yes, its possible to use the search function in appearance while executing a select_one_from_file question type in KoBoToolbox. However, please be informed that this only works with Enketo at the moment and not with KoBoCollect or ODK Collect.

In the choices tab:

In the csv file:

Reference xlsform:
select_one_from_file.xlsx (11.8 KB)
fruits.cs…
Here’s the result:
I also tried the solution proposed by @freedim , in the same post, but this is not working too.
I must say I’ve tried a lot of solutions, basically I’ve tested each solution that came to the posts given by the search engine for select_one_from_file
;
Again, I don’t use Enketo for now so it’s not a problem for me.
I found all I needed here and done cascading by mixing infos from another post:

As a backup you could also have a look at the post that has a simple workaround that should help you understand the concept of cascading select question:
But looking at your xlsform, i see there are more then 800 choices which should affect your data entry performance. Thus a solution for this could be design…
Have a wonderful day!
