Formatting Instruction Text

The instructions for answering the questions in the questionnaire appear quite hard to render in a way that is attractive to the eye and easy to follow.
Is there a way of creating different font sizes, colours, carriage returns etc?

Sorry if I have missed this in the instructions.

Best,

Nick

Hi Nick,

The appearance of the form can be customized in some ways. First you can use the appearance setting in each question setting to change how responses are displayed. In KoBoCollect you can also choose between several different phone sizes.

Other formatting can be done when you use Enketo Web forms. See the following links:

Hope this helps.

Hi Tino,

It seems as though there are a number of presentational options within the choice questions. And although there are non in a drop down for notes (instructions in my case) it looks as though you are able to do it.

If this is the case it suggests to me that there should be a script convention for a range of stylistic modifications. Is this the case?

On the Enketo, I have played with it, and it is attractive, although I prefer the small screen swipe format.

When you produce an Endeko form within KoboTools, you gt a finished form that links to the aggregation software (right?). I do not see anywhere to access the code, or output it to excel so that it can be modified in and used. I’m not sure then what the purpose of the link to the Endeko site is - albeit interesting in its own right.

Any guidance (and thanks again - you provide amazing support).

Hi Nick,
Yes, Enketo Webforms automatically link to your account and deployed project, so there’s no need to configure them further.

I’m not sure I understand your other question about “script conventions” but the only modifications possible for changing the appearance of responses and question labels are the ones mentioned in the links I sent earlier.

Dear Tino,
Sorry if I was not clear. My experiment concerned the possible inclusion of a formatting mark-up to the text of the label when entered in the pform e.g. Test<\B>. If this were the case it would have been possible to smarten up the look of the phone based UI. It appears that is is not though.

It still has many advantages though, notably being very quick to use.

Hi Nick,

Just to be clear, some formatting like bold, italic, and HTML links are possible through markup in Enketo Webforms. This is not possible in the Android app, though. See http://blog.enketo.org/better-notes/
