Your best bet would probably be to post a feature request to the ODK Forum, here Features - ODK Forum, explaining in a bit more detail what you desire and why, and seeing what sort of traction it gets. If/when a new feature like this gets added to ODK Collect, KoboCollect will pick it up in its next refresh.
