Make select type hidden (UI)

Hello,
We are looking for a possibility to use a select_one (or select_multiple) type as hidden for an internal calculation. This will allow to define and export labels, e.g. for Excel or SPSS, for this variable.

We tried things like appearance=hidden or deactivated column = yes, without solution. The latter seems to fully exclude the question, even in export (except in form download) and works in Enketo, but gives a warning in https://getodk.org/xlsform/

Have you tried this out as discussed in the previous post (it should help you solve your issue):

I’d like to have a field (e.g. text field or integer), but don’t want to show it on the form

Maybe you could do the following workaround using the disabled feature as outlined in the steps shown below: Create a survey form with a disabled column and mark TRUE to all those questions that you do not wish to make it visible for the enumerators.
