Dear @Kal_Lam,
related to different answers in varius threads, a general question, please:
Which browser is fully supported by KoBoToolbox, esp. Enketo? (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera)
Is there an official document about this?
Which browser versions are supported?
Which browser configuration is needed (or recommended), like scripts enabled?
This may help the community to better understand and follow the KoBo strategy.
Thanks in advance.
we recommend upgrading to a recent version of one of the following excellent modern browsers:
Q. Which browser is fully supported by KoBoToolbox, esp. Enketo? (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera) R. It depends upon the user’s preference. All the listed browsers are modern browsers and they should work as expected.
Q. Is there an official document about this? R. We do not have an official document but Enketo has the same. You could check it out here. Maybe we could update our support articles with the same.
Q. Which browser versions are supported? R. Latest version the best as Enketo keeps updating over time.
Q. Which browser configuration is needed (or recommended), like scripts enabled? R. Maybe @martijnr would be in a best position to respond to this query.
Be great to update the support articles! Will be a very handy reference - Thanks loads in advance!
The below thread had some of the specific adjustments that needed to be made to existing support pages too.
Yes, definitely scripts enabled And also not using Private Mode, though it may be ok for non-offline-capable webform views, we don’t test in that mode. It definitely won’t work with offline-capable webform views.
Sorry, I (Enketo LLC) do not have the resources to provide that level of guidance (and keep it up to date because it will be out of date immediately). I agree it would be good to have this though (maybe as in “don’t change [this] default setting” per browser & OS combo). As long as the Service Worker cache and IndexedDb stay intact, offline-capable webforms will work.
