I appreciate any support you can provide. I have created a form that includes a section of questions that repeats as many times as the number of family members indicated. I am attaching the truncated form sections involved. The flow is as follows:
- in section 1, the total number of household members (question tot_1) is calculated as the sum of questions p6a and p6d reported by the respondent.
- in section 5, a note is initially displayed showing how many members the family consists of, and then the interviewer is asked to record this same number (if the figures do not match, a note appears alerting this discrepancy).
- Repeated groups are created for the total number of family members starting from group “sec_nombres”.
The survey is being administered via KoboCollect. The problem is the following: Out of the 70 surveys that have been conducted so far, only in 3 cases has a greater number of repeated groups been created than registered. For example, the interviewer enters 5 members (which matches the calculated value), but when the groups are created, they are generated for 13 members (starting from question p37).
As I mentioned, this has only occurred in a small number of cases; for the majority, it has worked perfectly. Therefore, I am not sure what might be happening. I have previously worked with similar surveys and did not have this kind of problem. Additionally, I validated the complete questionnaire on the ODK platform and everything was fine.
I am also attaching 2 images where it can be seen that the correct number of members is registered, and how a greater number of repeated groups is created.
