Adding an URL pointing to a pdf file in xlsform

I have been able to add URL pointing to a Youtube video on xlsform. I also can do that to a PowerPoint presentation on the web, but when I try to do that with an URL pointing to a pdf file on the web, I received an error. Is it because we can’t do it with the pdf file type? Would someone be able to give me some guidance and insight? Thank you all for the help.

Can you open this pdf with the URL outside KoBo from the same device?

Yes! Just can do it within xlsform or from webform.
