Hi all–
A survey that is currently live is missing a response option for a question. Is there any advantage to Solution A) cloning the survey and adding the new response option in the cloned survey vs. Solution B) revising the live survey and redeploying it? (I have read past similar posts, but don’t know if this exact issue has been addressed).

Both ways will work. With solution A you will end up having duplicate forms for the data collector to download if you don’t remove data collectors from the old form in the sharing settings of the form in KoboToolBox website.
Redploying the new form with your new required response option in choices sheet will also work.
Ask your data collectors to finish their work on the existing version of the form in their devices, and submit all their filled forms to the server. They then need to download new version of the form from server and use it only, so that they can see the new response option and choose it while entering their answer.

Hint: Try to avoid changing forms during development. Do systematic pretests. If a change cannot be avoided, always test it first a clone of the form, including data export (with old and new test cases).
