yes just use autocomplete in the appearance field of the xls form… if this is a select_one question with many options you can use “minimal autocomplete” to make it appear one line but searchable

Hi @keerthi & @jseiden, Backing up with the response provided by @martijnr, I just tried using the autocomplete in the appearance and it seems to work finely with KoBoCollect application, ODK Collect application and the Enketo.
