Since the appearance of the new “community” plan, storage capacity has decreased. Personally, I mainly store audio/photo recordings on kobotoolbox (for few submissions in total, <50 per month) which gets heavy pretty quickly.
Would it be possible to think about a solution that would allow media storage to be relocated to an external service (dropbox, onedrive, google drive etc.)? This is to avoid consuming space on kobotoolbox.
Thank you in advance for reading!
Thank you for coming up with this feature request @A-d-r-i! Do you or your organization wish to sponsor this feature?
Thanks for your feedback. I’m just suggesting this feature.
Could this functionality be possible?

@A-d-r-i, we could bring this to our roadmap if we have a sponsor.
That would definitely be a useful feature, especially for projects with lots of media files. For now, a practical workaround is to regularly export your data and move media files to an external storage like Google Drive or Dropbox manually. You could also look into integrating KoboToolbox with other tools or scripts to automate backups. Hopefully they consider adding direct external storage support in the future.
