I want to calculate the total editing time of a form, from start to end, if the enumerator saves it midway and then start editing later again I want that time too to be included but excluding the time form was not opened. what would be the calculation for this?

Don’t exactly know if it should work with SurveyCTO. Maybe it would be wise to consult with the SurveyCTO team. But if you wish to use KoBoToolbox, it’s the way how it works.
