Changing Question Type of a deployed form

Hi Team,

I was wondering if it would be possible to edit the question type of an already deployed form.

Example: For the question, name of the country- the responses currently are to be manually entered by the enumerator. I wanted to change this to a dropdown option to avoid multiple spellings and tailing spaces being entered.

@rafglobal, you cannot do this through the formbuilder. However, you could do it by following the instructions outlined below:

  • Download the project as XLSForm.
  • Make necessary changes to the XLSForm as needed (i.e., change the question type and update the choices as needed).
  • Replace the XLSForm. i.e., upload the XLSForm to the project.
  • Redeploy the project.

HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS DIRECTLY TO THE MAIN PROJECT. TRY THIS FIRST IN A DUMMY PROJECT TO SEE HOW IT BEHAVES AND IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE CHANGE WHEN DOWNLOADING YOYR DATA AS XLS FORMAT.
