Counting the number of response of different questions

Hi All,
I have 10 questions about vulnerability assessment. All these questions in a group and select one type. These questions ask about some vulnerability criteria like: female headed household, child headed household, disability, total household members, number of earning members, amount of income in a range, number of elderly persons etc. All these 10 questions have only two options: Yes and No. All these questions are mandatory. After asking these 10 questions, I need to define the vulnerability status of the respondents, like: Extremely vulnerable, vulnerable, moderate vulnerable. For example: If 8-10 questions out of 10 are answered ‘Yes’, then it is extremely vulnerable. If 5-7 questions answered ‘Yes’, then moderate vulnerable. At the end of this group, I have question: Define the vulnerability status of the respondent.

Are there any way to count the number of ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answered out of those 10 questions?
If I want to link this vulnerability status with the range of ‘Yes’ answered, is it possible? I mean, if 8 ‘yes’ is answered, then there will be only options "Extremely Vulnerable’. If 5-7 ‘yes’ answered, then only ‘moderate vulnerable’ should appear as option. Its kind of cascade, I think.
Any suggestions? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hello,
What is the “name” (code) of the yes answers?
Could you provide the related part of your form here for better support?

You can search the forum to find several examples, incl. vulnerability

@tasfik_rukan, you could do the same as outlined in the image shared below:

In the survey tab of your xlsform:

In the choices tab of your xlsform:

Hello Kal_Lam,

Please help me. I want to count the number of all the questions answered in my form to be able to generate a “progress %” of completion of the form to display to the users (knowing that enketo doesn’t have a progress bar). I have 8 groups that have the same questions, but they are randomized so users have to answer just 4. The majority of the questions are required and have relevant sets and skip logic. I’m having NaN as the displayed %. Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thank you very much!

Hi @ivonne_salamanca,
If you use page view (settings), Enketo shows a progress bar (on top). You might solve your requirement through grouping your questions by pages.

Hi wroos,

Thank you for you response. I’m sorry, but I don’t see that progress bar you mentioned on the online validator. I already have the survey in pages style. This is what I get on my laptop and mobile:

It should be the red line on top, below the browser menu (in Enketo).

Well as you can see, the bar is the same at the beginning of the survey as well as halfway through, so I don’t believe it’s properly showing a progress…

Yes, this seems strange. Before the first entry, the bar is not full but directly after, independent of yes or no select.

Maybe @Kal_Lam can help here, and also explain how this Enketo bar is working.

Hint: The Online validator shows another warning, please, in the settings sheet. (Remove or English (en) )

Hi wroos, that’s exactly what’s happening, after yes the bar doesn’t change. Yes, I hope @Kal_Lam can help me. Thanks also for your suggestion.
