Error when uploading xls form on kobo! Import Failed! Name: pub NameError: name ‘writable’

Hi,

I am trying to upload an xls form via url on kobo and I keep getting this error
Import Failed! Name: pub NameError: name ‘writable’

Could someone please assist with what this means and how I can rectify the error? I am a first time user so please simple explanations without jargon will be much appreciated.

Hi @Elyjoy and welcome to the community!

It’s a good practice to upload your form in the validator first: ODK - XLSForm Online v2.x and see if there are any syntax problems.

When you upload and do the validation you can share the screenshot in this topic, so the community can help you.

@Elyjoy, it seems like your XLSForm is not compatible as outlined in this site. Would you mind checking to see where you have missed it?

Hello Elyjoy,

Please get the attached to the corrected excel file. I had made some changes that are highlighted for your reference.

There were some type errors and had some space in excel.

Hi Elyjoy,

Could you check which excel form you deployed again? The excel file I uploaded does not have any name with service_childcare.

I uploaded and deployed the form and it’s working.

OR you can share the excel file that you were trying to deployed in here so that I can check again,

I quickly check the excel sheet and there were again typo mistakes with name service and missing end_group. I corrected it and attached the excel file and even highlighted it.
