Export Select Multiple responses in separate rows instead of single space separated value

Hi there,

Is it possible to download an export or link via API to google sheets where multiselect options appear in separate rows instead of one single cell?

I have created a cascading option for multiselect. E and M are associated names with Women Volunteers and F and N are associated with Adolescent Girls.

The export shows (second entry) Women Volunteer Adolescent Girls in D3 and E F M N in E3.

Is there a way to change the settings where I can get an export in separate rows?
For example: the second entry should ideally split into 4 rows. Two mentioning Women Volunteers and their respective names and in the same manner, 2 rows for Adolescent Girls and their respective names.

You can define this in the (advanced) settings of the Excel export, but for separate columns (not rows).

Hi @wroos, thanks for sharing the article. I wasn’t able to resolve my problem since the options for exporting “select many” questions lets me choose whether I want it in single column or multiple columns. However, I am looking for an option where my “select many” questions can be exported into separate rows. Would you have any other suggestions?

@oindrila, this is not possible within the system. You will need to manage your data in some third-party app such as Excel, SPSS, and so on.
