Exporting data from Kobo using API- columns in power query use the XML names

Hello all,

when exporting data from Kobo using API into Powerbi, power query is showing the column names using the XML name instead of the exact column name from Kobo See screenshot.

also the questions with muliple select options are all showing in the same column separated by an under score:

is there a way to fix that?

I really look forward to recieving your answers, as it is a large datadase and will take ages to fix manually.

Hi,

Are you importing by using API 1 or API 2? if you are using API v2, in the download tab, you will find advanced option and value and header format. To download the data in exact column name, use the value and header format, for the multiple columns use the “Export Select Many questions as”
