Failure to correctly configure KoboCollect

Dear All,

I am new to Kobo but managed to do most of the job (form building and the likes) by reading available guides. However, I am facing a major problem when I try to use KoboCollect. I am going to collect data in Sudan-leading a team remotely. Therefore, this step is critical for my sucess. Two questions: what should be the URL for the first question after just installing? I have tried but the forms did not apear after signing in. I am conducting the survey for humanitarian organization…please help me. Also, do I have to reconfigure once inside? How and what is the URL for the setting part?

Welcome to the community, @melakukobo! You should be able to make configurations to your app as outlined in this support article (shared previously):

However, the first thing you should be cautious about is knowing the server on which you have created your account, as there are two public servers for KoboToolbox users. If you create an account under the Global Server and then try to configure your app with the EU Server settings, the configuration does not work. Similarly, if you create an account under the EU Server and then try to configure your app with the Global Server settings, the configuration does not work.

Thank you very much for your quick response and support. I have read the guides and insert the URL, username and password and entered into the server. It says: start new form, drafts, ready to send,etc. It also shows the K sign in upper right section. Iread all the guides carefully. My android is latest. Then, when I press Start new form, it displays "nothing available to display. Try getting and filling out a blank form’. The same display happens for Drafts, Ready to send, Sent…etc. I couldn’t fix the problem. I have also used the eu server as advised. On related issue on the shared guide it shows to URL for Eu: one is and the other: https://kc.humanitarianresponse. info (in this link: I have tried both but the result is the same. I am using KoboCollect v2023.2.4…I was trying to fix this for the past two weeks. Please help me in any way you can. Melaku

@melakukobo, could you kindly share with the community a screenshot from your Settings>Server? Maybe that should give us a picture of how you have configured your app.

@melakukobo, you will need to download the blank forms to your app first by pressing the Download form. Once the blank forms are there in your app, you can start collecting your data by pressing the Start new form.

But please be informed that when trying to download your blank forms, you will need to connect your device to the internet.
