Finding duplicates by using geo-tags

We are trying to identify Database duplicates using geo-tags. We have Latitude/longitude parameters but location accuracy varies up to 8 m. We need someone to help us write a search formula that will automatically identify duplicates with in parameters of about 8 m. I know it’s doable but it’s ‘melting my head’ thinking about how it might be incorporated in our database. Where could we get help? Thank you. John

Welcome to the community, @JohnH! Why not use the in-built map feature from KoboToolbox as outlined in our support article Mapping, Sharing, and Exporting GPS Data.

Hi Kal_Lam

Thank you so much for getting back to me. Is it possible to automatically extract the GPS coordinates into the database when a photograph is uploaded? Currently, we upload the data manually.

I’m trying to make things as simple as possible for this website: Changu Changu Moto (Fast Fast Fire) Database

I’m also trying to find duplication, sometimes a stove is counted twice but it’s not possible to compare exact GPS coordinates, I would need to be able to compare stoves within a 8 m radius to allow for variable GPS accuracy.

Sorry if my language is not clear; I hope you can make sense of what I’m saying.

Thank you

John
