We started using our own server late last year. Since we started using it, we have been having accuracy issues across different data collection areas across the country. The accuracy issues never occurred when we were on the kf.kobotoolbox server using the same devices in the same location. Is there a reason why this is happening?
This looks like you are running KoboCollect, correct?
There should be absolutely no difference wrt GPS satellite acquisition in KoboCollect regardless of what server happens to be hosting your forms - our global kf.kobotoolbox.org server, or our https://eu.kobotoolbox.org EU server, or your own.
Have you tried sticking your form back on our server (eg global) and confirming that you still see the same issues (you should!)? Please note, trying to acquire a fix indoors is problematic; please make sure you are trying this outside.
I’m not aware of any issues in the previous version(s) that have recently been fixed in this regard, but please also make sure you are running the latest KoboCollect v2025.3.3
Hi Thanks. We ran some extensive tests across the different areas and servers and realized it was a problem with a specific model of the tablets.
