Have I definitely lost all the data from new questions?

Hi there, we ran a census on pre-school provision in half a refugee settlement. Due to gaps in data, we added questions to the form before doing the census in the second half of the settlement. I downloaded the data and found that there were no columns/ answers for the new questions. I looked on Kobo Toolbox and couldn’t see them on the site either, so I thought that the data collectors had not downloaded the new version on KoboCollect and I very regretfully deleted the responses on Kobo Toolbox as we were well over our data limit. It turned out this made little difference to the amount of data used and also that the data collectors had collected the new form and had answered the new questions. I checked the download and settings, and I had the box ticked for data from all versions to be included, but then found that the individual questions were not ticked.

Is there any hope of getting them back?

Welcome back to the community, @childrenontheedge! Would you mind going to the end of your data and then checking if you are able to see the data there for those that are missing? Generally, when you make changes and redeploy the data collected after that change goes to the end.

New questions were:

  • Which ECD centres do your children attend?
  • If ‘other reasons’, what are these? x 4 (once for ‘If girls aged 3-6 are not attending ECD provision, why is this?’, and the same for boys, once for ‘How many girls who accessed and graduated ECD provision are NOT now attending Primary 1 or Primary 2?’ and the same for boys.)
