How to calculate total hours worked from start and end time?

Hi everyone,

I’m designing a form to track field staff working hours using KoboCollect. I have two questions:

Is there a way to automatically calculate the total hours worked based on start_time and end_time inputs (both as time type fields)?

Can I format the result as decimal (e.g., 2.5 hours for 2h 30m) for easier reporting later?

I’ve seen examples using calculate fields, but I’m a bit stuck on how to do the math correctly with time data types.

Would appreciate any examples or tips on this. Thanks in advance!
