Inability to submit completed surveys in KoboCollect

Hi pls, I am having difficulty submitting my completed form using KoboCollect App. The error message is:

Error: Generic Exception: Error: (500) at https://kc-eu.kobotoolbox.org/submission?

Please assist I am really running late on my submissions!

Yes pls. We have recordings captured.

Some interviewers are able to sync while some are not able to get their work top the server. We have a project going on across 37 states in Nigeria and we have timeline which we are already lagging behind. This is creating tensions on delivery date already. Please help!

Something similar happened to me recently, forms with audio over 15 MB had trouble syncing, the only way I found was to upload them manually following the steps provided in the following link: Manually Uploading Submissions — KoboToolbox documentation

Hmmm! But we have enumerators across 37 states who will not be able to do this themselves. So, does it mean that the problem is from the audio recordings?

In my case it was, only the surveys with audio files larger than 13-15 mb did not upload. What was done was to ask people to send me these files by some means, email, WhatsApp, and I uploaded them manually. That is to say, the surveyor looked for the ‘instances’ folder on their device, either using a PC or a browsing app on Android, and sent me that file using whatever means they could, Google Drive, WhatsApp, email, etc. I really don’t know how to do it en masse, but that was the only solution I could find, because I had no more time to upload these surveys and they were all over the country. Thanks @Luisfer1492 , what I did was changing the audio recording type from NORMAL to “voice-only”. Voice-only recordings takes ~ 5 MB/hour space while NORMAL format takes ~ 30 MB/hour. So, after the changes, we are able to send new interviews done with the updated script to the server but the one ones still remained unsuccessful when sending them to the server.

I did something similar, but the quality=voice-only wasn’t good enough, so I left it. quality=low where one hour of audio is ~ 11 MB/hour

But we are able to hear interviews going on actually even though not too loud.
