Installing Kobotoolbox in Ubuntu 20.04 inside Virtualbox gives docker error

I want to install Kobotoolbox on my Ubuntu version 20.04 and using python 3.8.4. I have followed all the necessary steps of installation . but in the end i am getting this kind of error. I have tried installing docker but getting error too. I also have tried copying kobo-docker directory inside kobo-install. Unknown shorthand flag f in -f. No such file or directory ‘Docker’.

Hi @asif from the last line in the logs it appears Python is trying to run the docker command, but it cannot find the Docker executable. This means Docker is not installed in your system or is not correctly installed.

Can you try to Install Docker

sudo apt update
sudo apt install docker.io -y

and then after you install it

sudo systemctl start docker
sudo systemctl enable docker

And finally just check if docker is working with docker --version and then try running the commands again to install.

An error has occurred

Docker does not support -f on our system, nor does docker-compose exist which does support the flags detailed here:

Solution is apt install docker-compose and change your command to use docker-compose.

Do not install Docker.io instead,

Install Docker-compose

sudo apt install docker-compose

In Utils.py,
Change

return [ ‘docker’, ‘compose’] + command

to

return [ ‘docker-compose’] + command
