I am developing a 3W (Who is doing What and Where) project through KOBO to facilitate a service mapping for our programming.
I would like to share the KOBO form to the different partners to submit their data but I would like them to compile it without asking them to create a KOBO account. Is that possible?
There are 2 days where a user is able to collect data in KoBoToolbox:
First Option:
User is able to use the KoBoCollect android app to collect data. The support article Collecting Data with KoBoCollect on Android should help you out on how to configure your KoBoCollect android app and then collect data.
Second Option:
The second option is using the web browser aka Enekto. The support article Collecting Data through Web Forms should help you out on how to collect data through the web broswser.
Many thanks for your guidance.
I decided that it is better to ask the partners to participate in the data collection using a KOBO account so they can have access to the data they submited between the different rounds of data collection.
I do the process of setting up permissions (settings-sharing-who has permission- can ) and the other user can successfully submit forms. here is how the prmission is set
In my data table (user name ) shows that my account (owner) has submited all data, although some records was submited by another user that I shared the project with.
Yes, it’s obvious. The admin (project owner) is able to see all the submissions (either collected by self or by others). However, there are restrictions to enumerators if the settings are made accordingly. Maybe the following support article Managing Permissions and Row-Level Permissions should be helpful for further understanding.
I followed exactly the instructions of these support articles but still the user cannot see the data submited from her account and the project owner has no information of which user submited each record.
Ensure the permissions provided to the user. If you wish the user to be able to see the data too maybe you should provide View submissions as well as Add submissions. Sometimes if it does not work as expected, you should remove the permissions and then reassign them again.
great thank you i will try reassignment.
The remaining question is why the owner cannot see the submissions from that user although the submission is sent and the data looks fine? the user appears to be the onwer at all times. is that normal?
