I will be glad to get assistance on why my username cannot be found whiles a colleague wants to share a project with me. I tried sharing a project from my account and was able to find his username, but he is not able to find my username to share with me.

@Edem, kindly please be informed that KoBoToolbox has two public servers viz. the Global and the EU.
Be informed that sharing of projects is only possible within the same server i.e. either within Global server or within EU server. It’s not possible to share a survey project from Global to EU or vice versa.
You could also have a look at our support article MANAGING PERMISSIONS to learn more about sharing projects with other users.
Okay, well noted. How do I know whether the two accounts are both on the same server (either Global server or EU server).
