We are thrilled to share that Kobo has been selected as a 2025 WSIS Prizes Champion!
Out of over 900 applicants, Kobo was among 360 that advanced to the community voting phase. Thanks to the incredible support of our global KoboToolbox community, our project ranked among the most voted and was selected as one of the top five Champions for E-science ICT applications benefitting all aspects of life.
The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes recognize outstanding projects that use information and communication technology to accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Our WSIS Champion project aims to empower humanitarian and nonprofit organizations worldwide with cutting-edge AI features for transcription and translation. With these tools, frontline responders can collect more detailed and accurate data from impacted communities in their own languages.
With transcription for 72 languages and translation for 106, these tools are critical to advancing data accessibility and supporting nonprofits to deliver timely, responsive aid where it is needed most.
