KoBoCollect can not track GeoShape when screen is turned off

1. What is the problem? Be very detailed.
I created a form with an area question. I used ODK collect to track an area.
It’s work when my android phone turn on screen.
But turn off screen, ODK collect can’s track

2. What app or server are you using and on what device and operating system? Include version numbers.
ODK collect lastest version v1.23.3

3. What you have you tried to fix the problem?
I tried to change params to collect Automatic location recording with
Recording interval: 20 seconds
Accuraccy requirement: None
It not working.

4. What steps can we take to reproduce the problem?
Just turn off screen.

So you look for option to run the geotracking in the background so it continues to run when the screen off or event when you turn off the phone.

I think GeoODK currently does not support this off the shelf. I also run in the same problem and would appreciate if some one could suggest if we could fold the code to do that and where to start.
