Linking KoBoToolbox with Power Bi

Hello everyone,

I am trying to link five kobo forms to power bi to create some interactive visualization and I have followed the post by Tino Kreutzer explaining the process (here http://support.kobotoolbox.org/en/articles/1841861-pulling-your-data-into-powerbi), but still I don’t manage to do it.

I am using the Kobo Power BI Connector v2 and my survey forms are on the website https://kf.kobotoolbox.org/ and NOT the humanitarian response one, so I think I might be making some errors in the url I insert when pressing “edit credentials”. Which url should I put?

I also keep receiving this error message
“DataFormat.Error: We found extra characters at the end of JSON input.
Details:
Value=
Position=4”

Can someone please tell me how do I find the url to put and what am I doing wrong?

Thanks a lot, any help will be much appreciated!

Hi @miannuzzi,

Welcome to the community! Kindly please note that the article you are looking is correct. However, please try looking out at the GIF image provided in the article (more carefully first). Besides, i would also encourage you to have a look at the Pulling your data into Excel Power Query so that you would be able to know how to know the URL that you should use.

Last but not the least, try out trying in a fresh Power Bi that has been installed in your PC, instead of using the KoBo Power BI Connector V2 that you downloaded from the link provided in the support article.

You should then be able to visualize your data in Power Bi.

GOOD DAY!
