Looking for developer with experience to integrate Kobotoolbox as a Wordpress plugin

Hello everyone,

We have developed a proof of concept plugin that allows users to add maps from Kobotoolbox projects directly to a WordPress website. While the plugin is functional, it is currently unstable and requires improvements. We are looking for someone to help us enhance its stability and performance.

The current plugin allows users to:

  • Link and configure the Kobotoolbox data source (either own-server or public).
  • Create new maps.
  • Select a project/form to retrieve data.
  • Choose fields to display on the map.
  • Save the map configuration.
  • Generate a shortcode to insert the map into WordPress posts or pages.
  • Show the map with popups in Wordpress

We aim to enhance the plugin further, and we welcome anyone interested in collaborating on this project. The plugin will be released as free software under the GPLv3 license. You can access the current unstable version here: GitLab - Otrosmapas WP. Please reach out if you’re interested in discussing the details.

Thank you!

@ambassadors, @stephenoduor, @ks_1 anyone intersted on this?

It sounds like a great project! For enhancing the stability and performance of your Kobotoolbox map plugin, consider focusing on optimizing the data retrieval process and improving error handling. You might also want to review the code for performance bottlenecks and ensure compatibility with various WordPress themes and plugins. If you’re open to it, I can offer some guidance or connect you with developers who specialize in WordPress plugin optimization. Good luck with your project!
