Naming syntax

I corrected the spelling of “Communauté” in a XLSForm file which I downloaded from the formbuilder. The cell format is text, and the name starts with Letter, yet I receive following message when reloading the XLSForm and viewing the form:
[row : 15] Invalid question name [Communauté] Names must begin with a letter, colon, or underscore.Subsequent characters can include numbers, dashes, and periods.

Hi @jaak and welcome to the community!

Can you provide a screenshot of the survey sheet of your XLSForm that shows the question name too?

It is in the last line:

And this is the error shown when viewing the uploaded XLSForm:
[row : 15] Invalid question name [Communauté] Names must begin with a letter, colon, or underscore.Subsequent characters can include numbers, dashes, and periods.
By the way, why is Communauté here enclosed in Square brackets?

Hi @jaak,

Can you try the Communauté in the name without the é letter?

I did, and indeed the problem is solved. Many thanks
What could have been the problem?

I think the system is seeing é as a special character.

Many thanks, this must indeed be the case.
