Preventing Form Reopening After Submission

Hi Kobo team,

I need some assistance from you. Is there any feature in Kobo that prevents a form from reopening after a response has been submitted? Some of our users are unsure if their form has been successfully submitted. Because the current submission message (a dropdown) is easily getting missed and they are thinking that the form did not get submitted.

Could you please help me with this?

Welcome back to the community, @kobotool_fmch!

Did you mean you don’t want the respondent to open the form that has been sent to the server? Or, did you mean the respondents should be able to track if the submission has reached the server?

Could you also let us know if you are using Enketo or the Collect Android App.

Thank you for your response!

We want to prevent respondents from reopening the form straight away after they’ve already submitted it.
We’re looking for functionality similar to Google Forms as an example:

  1. After submitting the form, a confirmation message should appear, stating that the response has been successfully submitted.
  2. The user should then have the option to either submit a new response or close the form.

Is there a way to implement something like this?

Also, we are using Enketo.

@kobotool_fmch, have you tried using the Online-Only (single submission) as shown in the image below?

That should return you a confirmation message upon making a successful submission to the sever.

You should be able to learn more about the same through this support article Collecting Data through Web Forms.
