Problems with connecting Excel projects to the private server

Hello, I hope you are doing well.

I would like to know if you could help me with a problem I am having.

Context:

My organization migrated from a public server to a private server. When we were using the public server, in order to connect projects in Excel, it took from KoboToolbox Form Building API the inputs, and with Authorization Token from https://eu.kobotoolbox.org/token/ there was no problem.

Now, when I try to change the data source, I get a permissions error and the only way to connect is to enter my kobo account username and password. However, since I have to share the Excel in the organization’s sharepoint for others to update it, with this exercise, I have to connect with each person for a moment per teams and edit permissions by entering the credentials, but I would like to know if there is another more secure and practical option to continue connecting the database without the need for this process.

Thanks!

Hi @tbemapo,

I am also a privet server user and did not faced a similar problem. Can you share some details and screen shots? So I understand better and try to help?

Thank you very much for your help Osman! I share with you the error that I get when I try to change the data source:

I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, because when I try for the first time to connect a base, the conventional steps do still work for me, but I don’t identify where I’m making a mistake now :')

Thank you!

To be honest i have never seen such link. The format is usually not used after the .xlsx or .json because the reason we use format to indicate which format we want our data. Clearly the link doesn’t exist because it throws 404 not found error. just delete the whatever comes after the .xlsx . After that i should work
