Put a repeating group in ordinary group

I would like to know how to put a repeating group within a ordinary group.

I currently create a repeat group with field-list in a group between begin_group and end_group.
This works fine on the desktop.
But on a tablet, it shows “Repeats in 'field-list’groups are not supported. Please update the form design to remove the following repeat from a field list /the link of repeat group/” and the survey does not proceed.

Is it possible to put a repeating group within a group?
What can I do to resolve this?

Regarding ‘desktop’ and ‘tablet’ … are you trying this using KoboCollect mobile app or Enketo web app?

We use the questionnaire, installiing the KoboCollect mobile app.

This is working as designed (alas…) - you cannot have a repeat group inside a field-list. There is a discussion about it here, and the restriction is (briefly!) mentioned in the docs:

Warning

You can apply the field-list appearance to a repeat to make all of the repeated questions go on a single screen. However, you can’t have a repeat inside of another group with the field-list appearance.

YW. Sorry there isnt a workaround for you.

BTW, this restriction only applies to KoboCollect (and ODK Collect); whereas the Enketo web app does permit it.
