Questions on Matrix Question appears Empty

Hello, I am a new user of Kobo Collect.

I´ve been creating my first form, but after finishing it, the options inside the Question Matrix appears empty. When I open the form in Edit Mode, the questions in Matrix Questions shows as “Null”.

I would appreciate if you could provide any support.

Hi @juanlutte,

Welcome to the community! Kindly please be informed that this is a know bug and has already been fixed which shall be fixed in the next release (that is taking place very soon). Till then please be sure you do not do the following:

  • Edit your survey form in the form builder user interface (when you have a matrix question). Doing so will result to what you are currently facing.

Temporary solution:
Edit and replace the survey project through an xlsform (if you wish to make any edits within your survey project).

So, I would appreciate if you could first explain to me how I could get my content back in the Matrix Question and how to edit a survey project through and xlsform.

Hi @juanlutte,

You could follow the instructions as outlined below:

  • Download your current xlsform as illustrated in the post (as a backup):
  • Design a matrix question in the xlsform (where you recently downloaded) where you wish to have them following the illustration in the post:
  • Upload the xlsform and then redeploy.
