Repeating Group but select_one as reference instead of integer

I’m a beginner and I’ve been trying to get information from a set list of staff by using the repeat group function. However, I noticed most of the examples are having an integer as the repeat_count reference. Would it be possible for the repeat group to perform based on a selected option on a list?

For my choices I have:

The xml/name for the choices are in numerical form (please see choices above), would it be possible to reference that instead to anchor the repeated question group to the previous choice?
