Unable to edit question hints in form builder

I’m having difficulty setting up hints to questions in the form builder. When I double-click on “question hint”, the text is uneditable. However, when I download the survey as XLS, add a hint, and re-upload the survey, I can edit an existing hint.

The “Question hint” italic text is just a placeholder; you cant actually select and delete it, nor do you need to.

Just try clicking in the hint box and then start typing, and your hint text should begin to appear and the placeholder will immediately disappear.
