Unable to pull data into Excel using the excel power query

Hi I am trying to pull data into excel. I followed the tutorial here http://support.kobotoolbox.org/en/articles/1559346-pulling-your-data-into-excel-power-query
and selected the api https://kc.kobotoolbox.org/api/v1/

Now in excel after adding the url for the xls, I am brought to this window which shows that my table is empty but i have five records already in kobo.

Can anyone assist me in the right direction?

Can you confirm that the project is set to "“share data publicly”? If so, do you experience this problem with only this project or you have a problem with other projects too. I suggest you try this with another project and see if the problem persists.

Hi @stephanealoo Share publicly by link is enabled. I have the problem with this project, I tried it with another and it worked.

Would you mind ensuring the following:

  • Try downloading the dataset and see if you are able to see the data from the downloaded dataset.
  • Also be careful if you have encrypted your survey project. Kindly please be informed that if you have encrypted your survey project you will not be able to pull you data to an Excel through an Excel power query.

Hi @Kal_Lam
I am able to download an excel file with the submission results. I don’t recall encrypting the project.

What I will do for now is recreate the project and ensure it can collect results.

When you say

Is your project having data or currently deployed? FYI, I have tried this process using the steps in our article and using one of my projects and it seems to work fine. Kindly advice if the recreation process works for you.
