Uploading xls data back to the KoBoToolbox server

Hi Kai_Lam,

In one of your post in 2019 you mentioned that IT’S IMPOSSIBLE to upload back the data downloaded as excel to the kobo account. I wonder if that feature had already been added.

The feature you are requesting is not present in KoBoToolbox at the moment. However a new feature request for the same has already been lodged (maybe you could vote for the same):

I downloaded the data submission from a kobo form. I made some adjustments to the data directly on the excel file. Know I need to upload the data back to a new form. Need advice

As a temporary workaround, you could do the same using python code as discussed in the earlier post:

Importing xls data into KoBoToolbox

@sareep, a while back have created a method for converting XLS data into XML with a Python script so that they can be submitted via the API. This requires an existing deployed form to be in your account. Everything is documented in this repository: https://github.com/kobotoolbox/xls-import. I hope this works for you.
