I want the user-defined fields information in the Project Settings → User and Device Identity → Form Metadata → User-defined fields to appear when a user submits the data collected using the kobocollect app in android. When I go into my project dashboard and I check the data submitted, I only see data submitted, version, id, uuid, submission time and submitted by. The rest of the columns are empty. Please note that I already did the configurations in Layout & Settings of the form.
These fields need to be set/entered on the device in the local settings, please.

I have set the fields with the information needed. The problem is that, the fields are not part of the submission of the data, but I want them to be part. I already ticked them in Layout & Settings in the form settings
As well as setting the fields in KoboCollect app, you also need to include the relevant metadata fields in your XLSForm definition for them to get sent up in the submission.
Try the following form:

Upon submission, the corresponding fields will show up in the submission data:
