Using If or function in Kobo

I am trying to use an if" or function in Kobo to score a select one question in Kobo. Eg the choices are Yes, No and Not applicable. If yes or not applicable is selected, it should be scored a 3. I used the formulas as seen in various discussion groups, however, when the submissions have been downloaded, the yes or not applicable options are scored zero. Please what am I doing wrong?

I used (adapted) the formula if(${Q1}=1,410,if(${Q1}=2,25,’ ')) and it worked.
